Alumni Park on the University of New South Wales Kensington Campus has been selected as a finalist in the highly competitive Rosa Barba International Landscape Prize. Alumni Park has already received wide recognition, winning the AILA 2022 NSW Landscape Architecture Award (Health & Education), the AILA 2022 National Award of Excellence and was shortlisted in the NSW Architecture Awards for Urban Design.

Eladio Hernando (SMM Project Lead) will be travelling to Barcelona in November to attend the awards ceremony, which are a part of the Barcelona International Biennial of Landscape Architecture. Eladio will be presenting the project to showcase the design process, challenges and successful outcomes. The design draws on a deep understanding of Aboriginal knowledge, culture and connection to the land and natural systems, and was informed by this in each stage of the project.
