Sam Lockwood

Sam Lockwood is a Landscape Architect in SMM’s Sydney office, having joined in 2019.  His expertise spans across urban and landscape design with a focus on active transport and healthy streets where he works under Mat Dally in SMM’s Active Transport Team.
Following his completion of an arts degree in English literature (and a decade-long stint in the music industry) Sam undertook landscape architecture studies at the University of NSW, where he received the University Medal. Focusing his design exploration on the relationship between social history and the built environment, Sam believes that landscape architecture as an industry has the ability to remediate many issues facing society today – whether they are geographical, social or ecological.
