Spackman Mossop Michaels, in collaboration with Tonkin Zulaikha Greer architects, were engaged by the Roads and Maritime Services to undertake a feasibility study for a cycleway link at Sydney Harbor Bridge and Milsons Point. The study included conceptual design options and heritage assessment.
The project is part of the realization of the NSW Government’s strategic cycleway network identified in ‘Sydney’s Cycling Future’. The Sydney Harbor Bridge cycleway is the major cycle route between the City of Sydney and the suburbs on the North Shore. The existing cycle connection at Milsons Point consists of several flights of stairs. The purpose of this project is to provide a high quality dedicated cycleway connection from the Sydney Harbor Bridge to Arthur Street in Milsons Point that is sensitive to, and respectful of, the significant heritage values of the site.
